Siren is a rare enemy found in Cursed Waters. When the siren gets near the submarine, faint singing can be heard.

Description

The Siren, despite its name, has an appearance more similar to mermaids: below its torso, it is completely fish-like in appearance. However, from the torso to its head, the Siren greatly resembles a woman, although still possessing scales. Its "hair" covers its face while it's swimming, but when inside the submarine, it reveals that the Siren lacks a face, having only a disturbing, huge mouth in its head, that it uses to produce its alluring song.

Behavior

Sirens can be taken down by shooting them twice with torpedos. If siren comes to contact with the sub, it will disable shields. If the shields are disabled and siren swims near, it will enter the submarine and create a hull breach. When inside, it will start singing. Singing gets louder depending on players location (if player is near, siren will be very loud). If a player gets close, siren will create a sonic wave, which damages and slows the player down.

Trivia

• Siren is a folklore creature, who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and singing voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island.
