Biome Dark Depths
Appearance Exterior

The Camopus is an uncommon enemy found in the Dark Depths.

Description[edit | edit source]

Camopuses are cephalopods that only possess 3 tentacles. They are capable of changing their coloration and texture, allowing them to hide seemlessly among the biome's rocky walls and surprise its prey, aided by the very dark surroundings that making detecting it from afar almost impossible.

Behavior[edit | edit source]

In the Dark Depths, the Camopuses can be found hiding against the walls, with their coloration and texture changed to mimic the rock walls. If disturbed, either by shooting it, or when Submarine gets too close, it will come out of hiding and attack, quickly returning to its normal, pale coloration. It will then chase the submarine, and once it reaches the ship, it will latch onto it, disabling the shields for as long as the Camopus is holding onto the submarine. Three tentacles will appear inside, and cause a hull breach each. The Camopus will not release the submarine until all tentacles are severed in the interior.
