The Trash Compactor is common enemy found in the Mechanical Abyss and its Caves.

Description[edit | edit source]

The Trash Compactor is a large, segmented biomechanical creature, that has sharp, mechanical "teeth" that quickly rotates around its "mouth", shredding anything that comes into contact with it, and then swallowing it and incinerating the fragments inside the other segments, and compacting and ejecting the remaining waste, utilizing the results of the incineration to 'sustain' itself. It plays an important role in the Mechanical Abyss, as it gets rid of most of the trash and waste the other biomechanical creatures produce.

Behavior[edit | edit source]

If found in the exterior, the Trash Compactor will detect the Submarine and swim towards it, eventually breaching and entering if it makes compactor. Once inside or when found in caves, it will ignore the players and continuously move forwards, consuming (or badly damaging) anything or anyone in its path, and randomly turning around to continue advancing and collecting waste.

Tactics[edit | edit source]

The Trash Compactor deals 2 damage per hit and its rapidly rotating shredder mouth allows it to 'attack' very quickly, making it a very dangerous enemy if not handled with care. However, since it ignores the players and simply moves forwards, while often turning around, it often leaves its defenseless rear exposed, allowing savvy players can simply wait for it to do so, and then quickly destroy it before it turns around once again.
