Bears are carnivoran mammals of the family Ursidae characterized by their thick fur, long snouts and short, round ears. The bears brought by the Time Traveller appear to be Brown Bears (Ursus arctos) and, according to him, have been originally taken to be tamed, possibly to be used in some form of entertainment or experiment, which failed, leading to the Time Traveller to release the untamed and possibly enraged animal inside the submarine.

The Bear will instantly begin to attack any crewmember it sees. Due to its high health and moderate DPS, it can be very dangerous to unprepared crews, or if it is brought into the ship while the crew is in turmoil. Ranged weapons are very useful to safely kill the Bear, as it is unable to climb ladders.
